Our team reviewed 125 recorded porta potty rental calls from July and August 2026. Here is what renters asked, how far ahead they booked, and what went wrong.

What did callers ask about most?
Callers asked about price most. 105 of 125 callers (84%) asked for a price or an out-the-door total. Placement came second at 47 calls (38%). Pickup timing came up in 32 calls and same-day or next-day delivery in 29.

Most renters booked within a week. About 1 in 4 callers (29 of 125) wanted a unit today or tomorrow, and roughly two-thirds booked within 7 days. Weddings and graduations were booked 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Restroom trailers needed about a week.
Which fees upset renters?
Fees added at checkout upset renters far more than the base price. The fees that caused pushback were fuel surcharges, 3% card fees, removal fees charged at pickup, and rush fees nobody mentioned up front. Several callers asked, "What did you add on?" after hearing the total.
How did reps size units for events?
Reps sized events at about 1 unit per 50 guests for a short party, 1 per 40 to 60 with food and drinks, and 1 hand-wash station per 2 toilets. One rep sized a 1,000-person day party at 10 units, which is closer to the low end. Our calculator uses 50, 40 or 30 guests per unit depending on event length.
