Which hand-wash station should you rent?
Rent a 2-station sink for most parties and small crews, and a 4-person station for food lines, festivals and large crews. Both use a foot pump, so nobody touches a faucet. Both carry about 20 gallons of fresh water, which is enough for roughly 325 to 350 washes.

Do construction sites need a hand-wash station?
Yes. OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(f) requires adequate washing facilities on construction sites, and 1928.110 requires 1 hand-washing facility per 20 workers in farm fieldwork. Hand sanitizer alone may not satisfy your safety officer. Crews handling concrete, paint, lead or oilfield fluids should always have running water.
Read the rules: OSHA 1926.51 · OSHA 1928.110. See our OSHA guide.
Is a sink inside the unit cheaper than a separate sink?
A sink inside a deluxe unit works for small groups, but a separate station is usually better for crowds. With a separate station, guests wash outside the stall, so the toilet line moves faster. Our planning ratio for events with food is 1 hand-wash station for every 2 toilets.
Where should a hand-wash station be placed?
Place a hand-wash station within a few steps of the toilets and on the path back to the food or work area. Set it on level ground so the foot pump primes. In wind, put the station beside the units so the towel dispenser is sheltered.
Questions renters ask before they book
Callers ask these 6 questions before they book. The first two are “How much is a hand-wash station?” and “Do your porta potties have sinks in them?” Every answer below leads with the direct fact, then lists the exceptions. A dispatcher can answer anything else on the phone.
How much is a hand-wash station?
A 2-station hand-wash sink starts at $125 for an event and $150 per 28-day cycle on a jobsite. Refilling water, soap and paper towels is part of each service visit.
Do your porta potties have sinks in them?
Standard units have a hand sanitizer dispenser but no sink. Deluxe flushing units have a foot-pump sink inside. For a group, a separate 2-station or 4-station hand-wash sink is often the better buy because guests do not wait inside the stall to wash.
Does it come with toilet paper and everything?
Yes. Every unit arrives with toilet paper and a hand sanitizer dispenser. Units with sinks also get soap and paper towels. Jobsite units are restocked at each weekly service visit.
How many porta potties does my crew need?
OSHA requires at least 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. Over 20 workers, the rule is 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. We recommend 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service, so tanks and paper last the full week.
Would we need it cleaned more than once a week?
Yes, if one unit serves more than 10 workers on a 40-hour week. Add a second weekly visit or a second unit. Odessa summers average 94°F highs in July, and heat speeds up odor, so busy summer sites often add a visit.
Are there any rules about where it has to be placed?
Pick a flat, firm spot, such as gravel, packed dirt, concrete or short grass. Our service truck must park within about 50 feet. Keep the spot clear of power lines, sprinkler heads and parked cars. Units placed in a street or sidewalk may need a City of Odessa right-of-way permit.
