Does OSHA require hand washing on jobsites?

Yes. OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(f) requires adequate washing facilities for employees on construction sites, and extra care where workers handle paints, coatings, herbicides or other harmful materials. A hand-wash station with soap, water and towels is the usual way to meet it.

What does OSHA require for farm field crews?

OSHA 29 CFR 1928.110 requires 1 toilet and 1 hand-washing facility per 20 field workers, located within a quarter-mile walk. It applies when 11 or more employees do hand labor in the field. It does not apply when the work, including travel, lasts 3 hours or less.

Questions renters ask before they book

Our dispatchers hear these 4 questions often, including “How many porta potties does my crew need?” and “Would we need it cleaned more than once a week?” The answers are written the way we explain them on calls. Starting prices appear only here, and your itemized quote confirms the exact total.

How many porta potties does my crew need?

OSHA requires at least 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. Over 20 workers, the rule is 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. We recommend 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service, so tanks and paper last the full week.

Would we need it cleaned more than once a week?

Yes, if one unit serves more than 10 workers on a 40-hour week. Add a second weekly visit or a second unit. Odessa summers average 94°F highs in July, and heat speeds up odor, so busy summer sites often add a visit.

How much is a hand-wash station?

A 2-station hand-wash sink starts at $125 for an event and $150 per 28-day cycle on a jobsite. Refilling water, soap and paper towels is part of each service visit.

Can a unit be lifted onto a roof or upper floor?

Yes. We can supply a high-rise unit with a lifting hook for crane picks on commercial projects. Your crane operator does the lift. Book a few days ahead so we can stage the right unit.
